Additional Rental Requirements And Information
- $325-$550 Security Deposit is required depending on which car it is. Any damages less than this would be paid out of pocket by the driver.
- Valid Drivers License and Passport Required.
- These cars are intended for driving in and around Medellin (within 100 km radius) so that we can reach you and provide support in case something happens. If the care renter would like to take the car a little further than this, permission is given on a case by case basis.
- Maximum allowed daily Kilometer limits are 150 KM. 400 pesos will be charged for each additional KM driven above this allowance.
-The cars are all rented in clean condition and with gas in the tank. renter is responsible for returning it in the same condition and with the same amount of gas or is subject to additonal charges.
- Each car has 2 days per week in which it is subject to the “Pico Y Placa” law, which means depending on what last digit of the license plate is, this vehicle cannot be driven inside Medellin between 6:30-8:30 AM and 5:30-7:30 PM. The days that these cars cannot be driven changes every 6 months but the current days and times corresponding to the license numbers can be viewed at Pico Y Placa medellin.
***Important Update to Medellin Car Rentals Policy***
There have been over 100 cameras (Foto Multas) placed all over Medellin that now automatically fine for traffic violations such as speeding, running red lights and illegal parking and charge the fine to the registered car owner… As a result Medellin Rentals as well as most other agencies have been forced to revise their deposit return policy. Since the fines delay a week in arriving, we now must wait 1 week to verify there are no outstanding tickets before returning the client’s security deposit.
